Viola Bristol-Johnson Graduate & Returning Student Extended Studies with Adams State “I’ve been coming to MCC since the 70’s for various certificates, and completed my Associate’s degree in 1984. Now retired, I’m back again pursuing an undergraduate degree in education. I would invite anyone to come to MCC and explore the possibilities; you never know unless you try. I’ve found that life is pretty dull without the ability or chance to learn something new. I encourage anyone to try it.” Monica Lopez Nursing Graduate “I got so much out of MCC. I found that there is always a starting point. For me, it was realizing the need to obtain a GED. I started the program while working at Cargill. I had so much support from my teachers and my husband. I started to believe in myself. The Financial Aid office was awesome! They provided me with the resources to help me find solutions so I could continue to go to school. I graduated in 2008 and became a Registered Nurse (RN). MCC introduced me to Colorado Plains Medical Center during my preceptorship and I’ve now been with the hospital for four years. It feels good to do something with my life.” 5
